Edge Angle

This term identifies how far a ski is tipped on edge.  It measures the angle between the snow and the base of the ski.  The greater the edge angle, the more a ski bends, and the smaller radius turn it carves.   When steering a turn, too high an edge angle can engage the ski so strongly into the snow that effective steering can become difficult.
